Best Week Ever!

With Miss Hadley's pending arrival around the corner, Brent and I devoted the whole week prior to her birth to fun days with Cooper. We went to get cupcakes, ice cream, sno cones, visited the Heard Museum, the Fort Worth Zoo, went swimming and took lots of naps just Mommy and C! I think it was the best week for Mommy and Daddy to be able to devote one on one time with our sweet baby boy before our family turned into 4!

We had Cooper's 2nd Birthday party at the School of Rock in Frisco! It was geared around his favorite TV show - Yo Gabba Gabba! We had about 30 plus kiddos and another 50 friends and family join us. It was such a blast and we don't think Cooper has ever had that much fun in his life!

It has been crazy weather here in the Big D! This is our second snow event of 2009 (very unusual for us). The first was Christmas Eve which was awesome, but SO cold! This was the week between Christmas and New Year's and we got some pretty good accumulation! Don't mind his red Popsicle face, too (nothing like a popsicle when it's 30 degrees outside)!

Christmas truly is better through the eyes of a child! What a fun age Cooper is at! He must have been a really good boy this year because Santa brought him some really big and special presents. The two highlights were Handy Manny's Tool Bench and his very own kitchen! Who knew one of his favorites would be the $1 aisle Slinky! He did a great job of "playing Santa" and passing our presents to the family, too!

We had the best Christmas Eve ever this year! We started the night out at Connie and Neal's for some good times and yummy food. Then we headed to church for the candlelight service and C had fun singing Silent Night with the family! After church, we got home for a bath and bed, but managed to put some cookies and milk out for Santa at Nana and PawPaw's!

Aunt Caroline and Anabelle gave Mr. C this fabulous Chef Hat and Apron for Holiday Baking last Christmas. We got to put it to good use this year! He was such a good little baker and his cookies for Santa turned out yummy!

It has been a busy holiday season in the Wenzel Household. Two weeks ago, we went with our favorite family, The Sands, to breakfast with Santa. We had fun, but C's was not a fan of Santa this year! Next, we went to Merry Main Street in Frisco and froze our bottoms off, but C got to have his first corny dog and see real reindeer. We headed out this past weeked to Santa's Village with the Nana and Paw Paw - we had a blast! He is such a little man now and it is the best feeling in the world to celebrate the holidays through the eyes of child!

Mommy and Daddy took Cooper down to Northpark today to see all the Christmas sights and visit good old Santa Claus. We had a feeling that he would not enjoy it like he did last year, but Mommy went to see this same Santa since she was a little girl - so it's a tradition no matter what! C loved the Trains and we highly suggest checking them out if you haven't seen them. Also, we got to see Scrooge and the Santa's Workshop Puppet Show. We grabbed some yummy lunch, did a little shopping and visited the SPCA puppies! C was out cold in the car before we even got on the highway!

We were lucky that Miss Caroline left her phone on Friday night and had to come by today and pick it up because Cooper got to play with his favorite gal for a little bit! These two pictures were so cute because Cooper was working on the laptop and A wanted to join him, so she climbed in the chair with him. She worked the mouse while he typed on the keyboard! BTW...C's shinny face was due to neosporin from way too many accidents this past weekend on his face. We are hoping that CPS does not get called tomorrow when we drop him off at school!

Wow! Who would have thought that time flies by this fast? I feel like it was just yesterday and I was putting up pics of his first day of school at Carpe. He is such a big boy now. Mommy and Daddy took Cooper to the Circus this past weekend at the AAC! He had a blast through the entire 2 hour and 15 minute show. He flirted with the girl dancers, said goodbye to the "eli's" aka elephants and growled at the tigers. C had a $12 sno-cone, cotton candy and a hot dog - what a treat! The highlight was our spining elephant light up toy!

Mommy found an exciting a new toy in Cooper's closet that she bought when he was still in her belly! Would you like fries with your shake??? The hilarious part is that Cooper has never been to McDonalds! He has to have the head set and visor on at the same time!

There are two ways on and off Gulf Shores - either the large Ferry Boat from Dauphin Island or down Hwy 59 through Mobile. We opted for the shorter and more scenic route with the ferry ride. It was quite interesting, but C loved the seagulls! Just be sure if you ever have to ride to use the restroom before!

One afternoon, the kids (minus Cooper) and PawPaw (the captain) rented a pontoon boat and set sail for a day of fun in the sun with a little fishing, too. Lindsay caught a fish, but her line broke and Courtney caught a pretty good size catfish! I, myself, enjoyed some miller lite and good old fashion sunshine!

Cooper has now become part fish! He absolutely had a ball in the ocean and in the sand. He found some time to sunbathe on the beach as well as do a little body surfing in the water. The last day he got braver and braver, he would walk straight into the water till it was chest deep on him. He built some sand castles, but had more fun throwing chunks of sand on everyone! I will post more pics as I get them from the rest of the family!

Our last night in Gulf Shores, Nana and PawPaw treated the whole gang to dinner at Lulu's. It was an awesome place owned by Lucy Buffet (Jimmy Buffet's sister). The Jet Ski Killers were one hell of a drink! Cooper got a caricture done and played in the huge sand dunes. Dinner was really good, I loved the Cheeseburger in Paradise. It was a great way to end a fabulous week!

Mommy and Daddy got this crazy idea in their head that Cooper would love to go see the new Disney Pixar movie - UP! Everytime we have seen previews on TV for it - he has gone nuts, so off we go with the Nana and PawPaw in tow for extra hands. Needless to say, he was set to go with his booster seat, goldfish and apple juice. The only thing was we had to tell him to "shhh" every once in a while because he would get so excited about the balloons and all the pup-pups! We were expecting the worst - and got the best. Really cute movie - 3 thumbs up from the Wenzel household.

We had the best time yesterday on Cooper's first trip to Fort Worth! We were able to coordinate four couple's schedules and have our bestest friends join us for brunch at Joe T. Garcia's and then the ladies and Daddy headed to the Fort Worth Zoo with Mr. C. It was a hot one - but we had a blast. Cooper is totally into animals and noises right now, so it was awesome to see his expressions. We figured this would be the shortest zoo trip we will have for the rest of our lives because he can't ask questions yet!

Two weeks ago the whole gang headed over to The Wildflower Festival in Richardson. Cooper went last year, but probably does not remember it since he was only 3 months old! Needless to say, this year we took FULL advantage of the kid zone! Face painting (okay more like arm/hand painting), petting zoo, painting a pet rock, bean bag toss and most fun of all the jumping fountains! It was a blast - hence all the pictures!

Happy Mommy's Day - Part One

I had the best Mommy's day ever! First, my sweet boy slept to 8:30am - what a treat! Daddy and Cooper brought me my gifts and sweet, sweet cards. I got "Super Mom" pj's and a spa gift certificate to none other than the Cooper Spa! We headed over to brunch at Uncle Julio's with the whole family (minus Adam and Taylor) and enjoyed some yummy food and drinks. What a treat! I even convinced Brent to let him wear his smocked bubble suit since it was "my day!"

Mr. C is really taking to the swimming lessons! He is kicking, scooping and even went under completely twice this past weekend. We are going to miss class on Saturday due to our trip to Houston, but we will have one more the first weekend of May - he might start doing laps the last class!

The Nana and her poor little third grade class have been begging for a visit from Mr. C. He has not been up to Stinson this whole school year! He thought being in school was pretty cool! I love, love the picture of him and Nana.

We had the best time at Nana and PawPaw's on Sunday for Easter Lunch! Cooper was a really good boy because the Easter Bunny left him goodies at their house, too! He got his first set of golf clubs (PawPaw is really excited). Nana made him a yummy meal of baked beans, potato salad, honey baked ham and if you look closely PawPaw gave us some blue M&M's. Also, Daddy requested no smocked outfits or rompers this year, so Mommy got resourceful - pretty stinkin cute!

Wow! Someone must have been a really good boy this year...look at the loot the Easter Bunny brought him. Mommy was extremely resourceful and saved all the things she bought last year for the 4 month old Cooper who had no idea - RECYCLE!

Mommy and Daddy started the "dying of the easter eggs" tradition with Mr. C. He thought it was pretty cool, except that he really wanted to touch all the color mixtures - not the best idea! He realized after a while that he could squeeze the eggs and they would break, so he broke every single one!

So that's how you do it!

We sure are a big boy now! We started swimming lessons at the Frisco Athletic Center this past weekend. The classes are every Saturday for the next month. C was a little intimidated at first and then took right to it! He was blowing bubbles in the water and kicking those chunky legs in no time at all! We'll send more this weekend of him in the water (Mommy went by herself this past weekend)!

Cooper got to go on his first true road trip this weekend down to Houston to visit our dear friends the Schillings! Claire will be 2 in May (but she is going on 13). She sings all the songs from Mama Mia and The Sound of Music - just about the cutest thing you have ever seen. We were lucky and got to visit (FINALLY) with sweet Lily, our good friends Amy and Chris's little girl. What a doll! Needless to say, I don't know if any more road trips are in a near future, but we all had a blast! Love you guys!

Apparently Aunt Caroline is 70 and had to have her gall bladder taken out this past Friday, so Aunt Kelly and Uncle Brent managed two toddlers pretty darn well, too! They had such a blast with each other and we enjoyed watching them even more!

Mommy had to go to a work event last Thursday, so Lala came to play! Of course, they built a fort and had some goldfish (Cooper is going to turn into a giant goldfish very soon)! Check out the shades (haven't seen those since a crazy Vegas night years ago)!

We were so lucky to have Aunt Jenny come visit us a few weekends ago! We sure do miss her being in Austin now. She was amazed at how grown up Mr. C is! She even brought Cooper an Easter Monkey - his favorite! Can't wait to see Aunt Jenny and Mike in May!!!

Grammy and Nana got Mr. C the best gift ever! Since the weather has been getting warmer, he goes in our giant backyard and does not have any idea what to do! So...in come Nana and Grammy with this great present! The Cooper Castle as we call here has a tunnel, wagon wheel, telescope, playhouse complete with a table and chairs, chalkboard, clock and a skylight! Daddy did a good deed and put it together all afternoon today (even though it is March Madness). He loves it - we have never heard so many "oohs!"

Our sweet little boy is growing up...C has finally taken to the sippy cup with good old whole milk (so much cheaper, too)! We have still been giving him one bottle at night for the past week and tonight Mommy and Daddy decided to "trade one bottle for another." We decided to open a bottle of wine in celebration of not having to spend our evenings cleaning bottles! It is hard to see him grow up and be such a big boy, but I have to say Mommy and Daddy will not miss the process!!!

The Big Top Birthday Bash!

This is the motherload post! The last weekend of January we had the Big Top Birthday bash for our sweet little guy who turned the big 1! It was complete with Maggie the clown (who could not remember his name - called him Conner the whole time), a big circus tent, an elephant cake and cupcakes for his friends and all kinds of goodies. He had a blast with all his friends, their mommies and daddies and our friends and family. We had a great turnout and were so pleased that so many could share this special day with us. Mommy and Daddy cannot believe it happened, but somehow Cooper turned one today! He is such a little man now. We made him his favorite meal - fajitas with mexican rice and black beans. What child doesn't top it off with Sprinkle's red velvet cupcake? The Kettler Tricycle did not even stack up to the cupcake! Happy Birthday to the best boy in the world!

We finally got the Cooper's together. I know a lot of you have heard me talk about my dear friend Judie and her adorable boys. We met because she had a little one named Cooper in the infant class at Carpe Diem. He is 15 months older than our Cooper and we know they are going to be the best of friends! His big brother is just as cute, Jack and such a sweet boy! Thanks for the invite over for make your own pizza night - we had a blast!
